First ascent (FA) information — what changed and why

If you've noticed that first ascent information is no longer visible in your ticklist, or that you can no longer mark a tick as a first ascent, here's what happened and what to expect next.
What changed
We moved first ascent data from individual ticks to the route level. FA is historical data — it's a property of the route itself, not of an individual tick. This change also helps protect the integrity of FA data, preventing misuse like someone falsely claiming a first ascent on an existing route.
What this means for you
First ascents can no longer be recorded through ticks
FA and FFA information will soon be added directly to the route — this is coming later this year
Your existing FA data is not lost — it's just not displayed the way it was before
Your ticklist
We know that keeping track of your first ascents matters. FA visibility in the ticklist is something we're actively working on and updates are coming soon.
