How to suggest additions to a Verified Topo

If you notice a route, topo image, or other information is missing from a Verified Topo, you can suggest an addition to the topo's team through the 27 Crags website or app. Suggestions help keep topos accurate and up to date for everyone.

Note: You can only suggest additions on published Verified Topos. For Community Topos, you can add information directly yourself.

Once you submit a suggestion, the topo team gets a notification. Your suggestion will appear with a blue speech bubble icon and won't be visible to other climbers until a team member approves it. Once approved, the icon disappears and the content becomes visible to everyone.

Suggesting content through the app

From the topo overview, tap the Add button to suggest:

  • Route β€” suggest a new route and attach it to the correct spot. We recommend also drawing a line on a topo image so the team knows exactly where the route is.

  • Topo image β€” add a photo from your gallery or take one with your camera.

  • Spot β€” suggest a new spot (boulder or sector) that's missing from the topo.

You can also suggest a route or topo image directly from within a spot β€” when viewing a topo image, tap the icon in the top right corner.

On the topo page, use the edit buttons on the right side of the topo image:

  • The upper edit button lets you suggest a topo image or a new route.

  • The lower edit button lets you suggest lines drawn onto an existing topo image.

If you don't see the Add button, the topo may not be published yet β€” a Community Topo maintained by a team is usually on its way to becoming a Verified Topo. Once published, you'll be able to make suggestions.
