App Running Slowly on Android – Low Storage

If 27 Crags lags or loads slowly on Android, low device storage is often the cause. Freeing up space usually fixes it.

27 Crags stores maps, topos, and route data directly on your device for offline use. This means it needs more free storage than a typical app. When your phone's storage is full or nearly full, Android compresses background data and performance drops noticeably — more so than with apps that rely on a server connection.

As a general rule: less than 15–20% free storage on your device can cause significant slowdowns.

How to fix it

  1. Check your free storage — go to Settings → Storage and see how much space is available

  2. Free up space — delete unused apps, old photos, videos, or files until you have at least 15–20% free

  3. Reinstall the app after freeing space for a clean start

Reinstalling after clearing space gives the app a fresh local database and usually restores normal performance right away.

Still slow after freeing up space?

If the app is still sluggish after following the steps above, contact us and tell your phone model and Android version. Note that on older or budget Android devices, some performance limitations may unfortunately be unavoidable.
